OR2014: All recorded sessions now available for watching

Many of the OR2014 main conference sessions were broadcast via Adobe Connect, and these sessions were also recorded. All of these sessions (including highlights like the keynote by Erin McKiernan and the Repository Rants) are now available for watching.

You can find links to all recorded sessions on the following page:

http://or2014.helsinki.fi/or2014-recorded-sessions-available

The presentation slides from (hopefully) all OR2014 sessions will be available in a couple of weeks once we get them sorted out and uploaded into a repository. If you haven’t already uploaded your presentation (or a final version of your proposal) into the conference submission system, please do so by Monday, June 23.

In case there are problems, you can e-mail your presentation to or-2014[at]helsinki.fi. This also applies to the presentations that were part of a workshop or a panel and were not submitted as separate proposals.

Evening in Helsinki

Some suggestions, if you still have energy.

You will find these places on a Google Map: http://bit.ly/1kSRVd2

Judging  from photos, some have already visited Ateljee Bar at Hotel Torni that has great views over the downtown: http://www.americanbar.fi/en/ ; Yrjönkatu 26. –  Restaurant Loiste has also nice views: http://www.ravintolaloiste.fi/yhteystiedot.html; Kaivokatu 3.

There are a couple of boats serving as pubs in differemt parts of Helsinki: Flying Dutch is on the way from Metsätalo to Paasitorni Congress Centre: coming from Metsätalo or city centre, you will see it on the left side of the bridge. – Another boat, actually a floating lighthouse, is Relandersgrund near Market square.

Kappeli is a bar and restaurant rich is tradition. It is located in Esplanadi Park near Market Square. http://www.kappeli.fi/index.php?id=23 In the other end of the Esplanade is the white building of the Swedish Theatre that houses a complex of bars and restaurants called Teatteri http://www.teatteri.fi/ (North Espalanade 2)

Fancy cocktails: A21, Annankatu 21, http://www.a21.fi/ (Monday closed); American Bar http://www.americanbar.fi/en/american-bar.html (Mon closed; same building as Ateljee Bar).

There are several restaurants on islands around the city. Restaurant Savu has a bridge connection as is an easy walk from the city centre. http://www.asrestaurants.com/EN/restaurants/savu/presentation.html

We’lle come back with more suggestions!
